We are deeply saddened by the recent news reports which have caused confusion and fear regarding the work of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh within our 54 counties of central and eastern North Carolina.
In Matthew 25: 35, Jesus states, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me.”
Responding to this call, our immigration legal services program provides the following services: Community Educational Presentations and Workshops and Applications for Family Petitions, Citizenship, Temporarily Protected Status (TPS), U-Visas (For Victims of serious crimes), VAWA (For victims of domestic violence), Adjustment of Status, Work Permits, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Renewals. Our staff are highly trained individuals who understand the current laws, evaluate if clients are eligible for services, and assist clients in following immigration laws.
Our work is humanitarian, not political, and we are focused on providing help, creating hope, and serving all of God’s children and will continue to serve the community in that way.
