Our Programs
Senior Pharmacy Program
The Senior Pharmacy Program (SPP) of Catholic Charities assists low-income seniors, ages 6O and over, with prescription costs and specific medical supplies to help manage their chronic illnesses.
Seniors must meet income requirements; must not be eligible for Medicaid; have no private insurance for prescription costs; and have a chronic illness covered by the Senior Pharmacy Program such as diabetes, glaucoma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, acid reflux disease, arthritis, or clinical depression.
For more information about the program, please contact the Senior Pharmacy Program by phone at 252-638-3657
Food Pantry Services
Hunger in our communities is an issue that far too many families are experiencing, especially seniors. A lack of nutritious meals can have long lasting effects on the physical, mental, and social well-being of all members of a family. For many seniors, they must decide between purchasing necessary medications and buying enough nutritious food.
Catholic Charities Food Pantry Services are dedicated to providing healthy meals, increasing access to food, and developing innovative solutions to address food insecurity in a collaborative way. Each month, our Food Pantry provides healthy food boxes to ensure that our senior neighbors don’t have to choose between purchasing food and paying for their prescriptions. Additionally, our food pantry offers seniors dietary supplements, incontinence wear and access to medical supplies when available.
With dignity and respect at the forefront of all interactions, families are offered a hand up during their most challenging times. In addition to feeding our neighbors, Catholic Charities Food Pantry Services serve as a medium for volunteerism, community engagement, and collaboration.
