The Community Nutrition Specialist will establish, implement, and expand services related to the creation of sustainable community food systems, nutrition education, and food distribution in the deanery served by Catholic Charities. This includes developing community partnerships, volunteer recruitment, and logistics related to expanding services in the deanery.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related applications. Fluency in Spanish and English (oral and written) is strongly preferred.
A valid NC driver’s license, a reliable vehicle for business use, and authorization to work in the U.S. are required. Candidates must also have at least one year of work experience in nutrition and a commitment to Catholic social teachings and the mission of Catholic Charities.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team are essential. This role may require travel and occasional evening or weekend hours.
