DCFP Blender Bomb

We received a few packs of “Blender Bombs” and I was inspired to make my own! These are a great way to make an easy smoothie, use up some overripe bananas, or mask some kale or spinach in a smoothie with these yummy ingredients.

You will need:

 

  • 1 overripe banana
  • ¼ cup oats
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 tsp maple syrup and/or honey
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon and/or cocoa powder
  • Optional add-ins: chia seeds, protein powder, chopped nuts

 

 

Directions:

  1. Mash the banana with a fork. It is ok to leave some chunks. 
  2. Mix in all ingredients so that they are fully combined
  3. Place dollops of about 2 tablespoons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or tin foil.
  4. Freeze until solid.
  5. To make a smoothie: blend your smoothie bomb, some liquid (such as milk or juice), whatever fruits or veggies you like and maybe some yogurt!
