Our Programs

Case Work

Centro La Comunidad offers families an entryway to services available in Alamance County. Staff conduct initial screenings to identify barriers to be addressed and refer clients to other Catholic Charities programs or to other community partners.

Individuals facing more complex challenges receive an in-depth assessment, set goals, and regularly meet with staff to reach goal achievement. Services are offered in a linguistically and culturally accessible way.

Employment Assistance

At Centro La Comunidad, families can focus specifically on enhancing their economic security by improving their employment status. Staff work with families to:

  1. Assess a client’s job skills and work history; develop an employment plan with achievable goals; assist clients with job searching; and provide post-placement follow-up as necessary.
  2. Assist clients in removing barriers to employment and economic self-sufficiency, including steps such as opening a checking account and accessing childcare, work-appropriate attire, transportation, etc.
  3. Assist clients with résumés, cover letters, employment applications, and preparing for job interviews.
  4. Connect unemployed, underemployed, and displaced workers with employment and employment-related training opportunities.
